BLOG 1

Today was a very exciting and productive day. I totaled 8 Hours of work during the day, which is twice my daily goal.

Ballin up in the studio
The first step when approaching this project for me was to formulate an organized battle plan that highlighted our goals, and designate tasks between my partner Alex and I. We are sharing the final product, however his project is a 45 hour project so this was a very necessary job to complete. We decided that we will share the duty of writing songs, Alex will adapt two covers and I will create three original songs. My project will focus more on the recording and mastering of audio while Alex's will have an emphasis on recruiting proctor musicians to record and using social media networking to help distribute the album.  (11-2:30)

Making a schedule

Check out Alex's blog!

My next four hours consisted of mastering and manipulating a song I recorded previously in this term. This is not necessarily a song that will appear on our album however it is a great way to further advance my knowledge of the recording software, pro tools.  I spent from 4-7:30 doing things that held a very key but quite subtle effect to the piece; a reminder of the amount of effort it will take just two master these 5 tracks. (4-7:30)

I then had a guitar lesson with Cliff, which does not count as part of my senior project however the lessons emphasis was on writing, so the practicing of these scales and music theory lessons is work toward the album. I went home after my lesson and practiced from (9-11:30)
Terrible shot of me with a guitar
So far, so good.

No real technical difficulties yet and the ideas are flowing!
